Getting started
From the information centre, the walk passes the information sign to the start of the car park. From the car park, the walk follows the Maitland Bay sign left, down the hill. The walk then heads down the staircase for some time to a signposted intersection.
Veer left: From the intersection, the walk follows the bush track down the staircase. The walk winds through the forest, passing a rock platform with nice views over Maitland Bay. The track continues down the hill from the rock platform, keeping the rock face to the right and an overhang to the left, continuing for some time before crossing over a wooden bridge and going down more steps to a signposted intersection.....

	At the intersection of The Scenic Road & Maitland Bay Drive Start heading along The Scenic Road (a road). Find the Maitland Bay Information Centre at the start. Maitland Bay Information Centre Maitland Bay Information Centre, was once the old Maitland Store and residence. The store was a influential piece of infrastructure as it acted as a meeting place for Trustees and a hub for early tourism. Today the store is still a hub for tourism but as an Information Centre open on weekends and public holidays. As well as information on the area there is also parking, a public phone and drinking water.
	After another 25 m (at the intersection of Maitland Bay Track & The Scenic Road) turn left, to head along Maitland Bay Track (a walking track). After another 20 m pass the car park (on your right). Then pass the water tap (7 m on your left). At the intersection of Maitland Bay Track & Stroms Trail continue straight, to head along Maitland Bay Track. Then pass the sign (on your left). After another 15 m head down the earthen steps (about 115 m long) Then head down the stone steps (about 60 m long)
	After another 30 m (at the intersection of Maitland Bay Track & Bullimah Spur Track) continue straight, to head along Maitland Bay Track. After another 95 m head down the surface\|sand steps (about 135 m long) Then head down the surface\|paved steps (about 115 m long) Then head down the surface\|paved steps (about 70 m long) Then cross the bridge (about 6 m long) Then head down the wooden steps (about 2 m long) After another 420 m pass the "Bouddi Coastal Walk" (6 m on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip to Maitland Beach West End. To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip veer left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. At the intersection of Bouddi Coastal Walk & Maitland Bay Track turn right, to head along Bouddi Coastal Walk. After another 160 m come to the "Marang Lookout" (on your left).
	After another 1.1 km (from the Bouddi Coastal Walk) continue straight, to head along Bouddi Coastal Walk. After another 145 m find the "Gerrin Point Lookout" (on your left). Gerrin Point Lookout Gerrin Point Lookout is a fenced lookout with stunning views of Maitland Bay and north up the coast. The lookout has a bench seat built into the fence. Gerrin Point is well worth a visit, or a stop on your walk, however it is exposed to the elements and can become quite windy. After another 7 m pass a seat (15 m on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip to Bullimah Beach. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip continue straight when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 310 m (from the Bouddi Coastal Walk) veer right, to head along Bouddi Coastal Walk. After another 5 m pass a seat (on your right). After another 6 m pass the "Bouddi Coastal Walk" (on your right). After another 50 m come to the viewpoint (on your left). After another 450 m head down the steps (about 45 m long)
	After another 125 m continue straight. After another 45 m continue straight. After another 35 m pass the water tap (55 m on your right). After another 10 m pass the "Putty Beach Day Use" (65 m on your right). After another 75 m pass the BBQ (65 m on your right). After another 90 m pass the picnic table (55 m on your right).
	Continue straight. After another 30 m come to the "Putty Beach Camping Area" (70 m on your right). W:www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au Campsite managed byNSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. There is a fee to use this campsite. This campsite has showers.
	After another 275 m continue straight.
	After another 145 m continue straight. After another 205 m find the "Putty Beach" (30 m on your left). Putty Beach Putty Beach, Bouddi National Park, is a large south-easterly facing beach that is almost completely framed by National Park. On the north-eastern end of the beach is the Bouddi Trail, and a large car park and campsite. At the south-western end of the beach is the Killcare Surf Lifesaving Club. Putty Beach is a patrolled beach and and locals enjoy it for a surf, swim or dive.
	After another 255 m continue straight.
	After another 135 m turn right.
	After another 70 m come to the end.

	Continue another 0 m to find from the Bouddi Coastal Walk at the end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 220 m to the main route.

Maitland Bay Information Centre
Maitland Bay Information Centre, was once the old Maitland Store and residence. The store was a influential piece of infrastructure as it acted as a meeting place for Trustees and a hub for early tourism. Maitland Beach
Maitland Beach, Bouddi National Park, is a 500m-long sandy beach sitting north west of Putty Beach. The beach's south-westerly aspect provides views over the South Pacific Ocean to Barrenjoey and Avalon headlands at the mouth of the Hawkesbury River. A creek breaks the centre of the beach, and the wreck of S.S. Maitland (after which the beach and bay are named) is found on the eastern rock point.
