Trephina Gorge Walk

Starting from the Gorge Campground at the end of Trephina Gorge Road, Hart, this return walk takes you up the rim of the gorge via the Trephina Gorge Walk track, optionally coming back via the creek bed itself. You’ll lose your sense of time as you explore this dry land via the rim. The gorge presents itself beautifully with its picturesque red cliffs and sandy creek bed. Keep an eye out for black-footed/flanked rock wallabies, you may see one hopping around if lucky. Try to be quiet and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature if you can. You can come back via the creek bed as well, making the walk into a circuit. The campground at the start is well-equipped and maintained, see it for yourself and spend a night if you feel like it. Remember to bring plenty of water. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the northern end of the campground, head northeast towards the creek bed along the dirt track. Stay on the track as it veers left and heads up the rim, keeping the creek bed and the gorge to your right. Follow the track marked by orange arrows to continue along Trephina Gorge Walk. You can turn back via the creek bed or retrace your steps.....

	Start. Gorge Campground (about 120 m back from the start). There is a car park (about 15 m back from the start). Find the toilet at the start. Continue straight. After another 15 m pass the shelter (on your right). Then pass the sign (on your right). After another 20 m pass the water tap (on your right).
	After another 45 m (at the intersection of Panorama Walk & Trephina Gorge Walk) turn left, to head along Trephina Gorge Walk.
	After another 315 m (at the intersection of Trephina Gorge Walk & Ridgetop Trail) continue straight, to head along Trephina Gorge Walk.
	Continue another 560 m to find the end. Then turn around here and retrace the main route for 960 m to get back to the start.
