Carrington Park to BurraBarroo Lookout

This short walk starts from, and returns to, the Carrington Park track head and winds down along the Prince Henry cliff walk to the Burrabarroo Lookout. There are great views across the Jamison valley and Leura Forest from the lookout. Being such a short walk to a great lookout, this is a great walk if you don't have a lot of time to spare, but still want to see a great piece of the mountains. Let us begin by acknowledging the Dharug & Gundungurra people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From Carrington Park, the walk crosses Cliff Drive and goes down the stairs and past the sign for 'Blue Mountains National Park'. The walk continues down the stairs until reaching an intersection signposted with the way to 'Echo Point' or 'Leura Cascades'.
From the intersection, this walk follows the 'Skyway' sign along the track heading through the forest, steadily winding down a long and gentle hill. Soon, the walk comes to the top of a set of wooden steps, which it follows down to the signposted intersection of the 'Burrabarroo Lookout' track.....

Carrington Park
Carrington Park is a medium-sized park on a traffic island, at the junction of Cliff Road and Merriwa St, Katoomba. The park is partially fenced and has a picnic shelter, picnic tables, garbage bins and children's play equipment.

Burrabarroo Lookout
This small, fenced lookout is just off the Prince Henry Cliff Walk, near Carrington Park. The view looks over the valley and out to Sublime Point and Kings Tablelands in the distance. The lookout is perched on the top of a rocky buttress at the end of a small point, giving great views.
