Callicoma Caves

This walk provides a beautiful mixture of scenery, including rainforest-like sections along the creek, as well as drier forest with grass trees and beautiful sandstone overhangs. The walk starts on Francis Greenway Dr and follows part of the Callicoma Walk. There are two main points of interest on the walk, the 'Coachwood Grotto' and the 'Callicoma Caves', making it a rewarding walk. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the intersection of Francis Greenway Drive and Macquarie Drive, the walk follows the 'Bushland Walking Trail' arrow, then goes steeply down the stepped bush track, arriving at an intersection with a management trail, marked with a 'Callicoma Walk' signpost.....

	Start. Then head down the steps (about 90 m long)
	Turn right. After another 20 m pass the sign (on your left).
	After another 35 m continue straight. After another 60 m cross the stepping stones.
	After another 45 m veer left. After another 470 m find the "Coachwood grotto" (15 m on your left). Coachwood grotto Coachwood grotto This beautiful, shady spot is beside Nyrippin creek, on the Callicoma Walk near Cherrybrook. The 'grotto' is an open area, shaded by Coachwood trees, with a curved section of low cliffs across the creek, giving an 'amphitheatre' feeling. This is a very atmospheric spot to sit and relax for a while. + - This beautiful, shady spot is beside Nyrippin creek, on the Callicoma Walk near Cherrybrook. The 'grotto' is an open area, shaded by Coachwood trees, with a curved section of low cliffs across the creek, giving an 'amphitheatre' feeling. 	After another 330 m continue straight.
	Continue another 210 m to find the end. Then turn around here and retrace the main route for 1.3 km to get back to the start. "Callicoma caves".
