Wanamalu Trail to Skipjack Point

Starting from the dirt car park in Francois Peron National Park, this return walk takes you to Skipjack Point and back via Wanamalu Trail. You can enjoy the views of the contrasting red beach and blue sky and observe the marine life through the crystal clear waters. The unique views are breathtaking and suitable for photography. Walk along the red dunes and look for dolphins, manta rays and dugongs as you traverse. There is not a lot of shade through the walk, so you might want to bring sunscreen and plenty of water with you. You will need a 4WD vehicle to reach the area. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the end of Cape Peron (4wd only) road, pass through the bollard and head along the sand track marked by the "Cliff Risk Area" sign towards the ocean. Keep right and head towards the slanted "Wanamalu Trail on Wulyibidi" sign. Pass by the said sign (to your left) and follow the sand track gently uphill to continue along the Wanamalu Trail to Skipjack Point Track.....

	At the intersection of Wanamalu Trail & Cape Peron 4wd only Start heading along Wanamalu Trail (a walking track). After 25 m pass the toilet (20 m on your right).
	After another 1.7 km (at the intersection of Skipjack Point 4wd only & Wanamalu Trail) turn sharp left, to head along Skipjack Point 4wd only (a vehicle track). After another 25 m (at the intersection of Skipjack Point & Skipjack Point 4wd only) turn left, to head along Skipjack Point (a walking track).
	After another 255 m continue straight, to head along Skipjack Point. After another 6 m come to the "Skipjack Point" (20 m on your left). After another 9 m come to "Skipjack Point". Turn around here and retrace the main route for 2 km to get back to the start.
