Snakebite: Cream Improving Survival Time

Postby baldhead » Fri 12 Aug, 2011 4:30 pm

Very interesting research find

"University of Newcastle researchers have found that applying an ointment commonly used to treat angina to snakebite wounds can improve survival times by up to 50%. The study found that applying the cream, which contains glyceryl trinitrate, slows the transport of venom toxins through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream." Hmm I can see it now, brand name "Snake oil" or perhaps "DeSnake Oil".
Sorry, Just couldn't help myself (slow day) but it does sound very interesting.
