Hi Tony,
It's a Terra Nova Photon Elite. MJD did a review of his (which is the slightly heavier model) somewhere in the equipment section.

So far I have had no problems with it. It's been in rain and stayed very dry, only been in moderately strong winds, but again seems ok.

My walking buddies give us both a fairly hard time about them, but with my recent back issues, I needed to lighten the load a bit and this tent fit the requirements well. Packs up very small, and with a ground sheet AND tarp, it weighs 900grams.

It's only been out on 3 or 4 overnight trips thus far, but as I said so far so good!!
Dont worry though, im sure IF/when it fails, you will hear alllllll about it on here from the above mentioned buddies..

LOL - got that right mate :D
I think the floor in the tent is lighter weight than crepe paper... :D
Still, yes, very light but I'd be keeping the Hillie if I were you Mark?!

Hence the tarp and ground sheet.....

Ah yeh i've been giving it some thought... not sure yet. Probably should keep it, but do I need 3 walking tents?? Hmmmm I spose so..... Still you know if nothing changes with the TerraNova, it'll be coming on the Eldons with me......

You could always get it modified with a heavier floor? I would think on the Eldons trip wet campsites will be the least of our problems.

Well it IS still waterproof, regardless of how thin it is. But i'd imagine with a ground sheet it will be fine. It's the pegs that come with it they should be ashamed of....

Sewing needles. I think you need to post a picture with one beside a match stick.

Thanks for the report on the Terra Nova Photon Elite, it sounds like it might be a good tent. I was actually more interested in the grey tent which I think is a Mountain Designs Neutrino 1 and how it handles SW Tasmania conditions.

Was that what Panda and Jez had in the middle of the KWs in 100kph winds? I guess it was the 2 person version?
