I am not sure how widely publicised the release of this fascinating book has been undertaken, but its a must read for anyone who walks in more remote parts of Tasmania. Jack was an early pioneer walker and this book on his life is a great read. Stories of early overland trips, Federation Peak, the Arthurs, early Lake St Clair, Melaleuca, Lake Pedder. plus more. Great photos of the early days as well.

Its available in limited release so it may sell out quickly.

Just finished reading this great book. Fascinating to read of the history behind Tasmanian bushwalking and the origin of some place names. Made me think just how much harder it would've been to walk in areas that we take for granted today.

Yeah, a mate at work got a free copy from his publisher, which he passed on to me. Fascinating stuff.

I love the fact he didn't get to the top of Fedders until he was in his 70s. Will probably take me that long to get Anne . . .
