I live only about 15 minutes away from the 1000 steps. Tried it once - charged up with a full pack (20+ kg) and made it about 10 steps before I had to stop for a break. Luckily there are very interesting plaques conveniently positioned every so often so you can stop for a break and pretend to read them,... I mean, yeah stop for a breather.
