Pole repair kits are designed as a temporary fix.
Once you get home you are meant to replace the broken section with a new one.
Some tent manufacturers can sell you a spare section or you get them from your nearest outdoor repair shops (just google say "Melbourne outdoor gear repairs" )
Most poles are easy enough to take apart and put back again, Just pull off the tip and undo the knot on the shock cord there
BTW, when a pole breaks at the end it means it was not fully inserted into the ferrule of the next section. Otherwise they break in the middle.
