Mushroom Rocks, Mt Baw Baw NP

Postby David M » Sun 22 Dec, 2013 1:31 pm

I was thinking of camping overnight there and was wondering if there is a water supply? Thanks.

There's a creek somewhere behind the scout hut I believe, although I've never tried getting water there.

There's a tap behind the scout hut.

Didn't know about the tap at the hut. We've always used the creek near the scout hut.

Where is the scout hut and can you camp there or near there?

It's a short walk further up the track from the Rocks.

It's locked up, there are some beautiful places to camp in amongst the rocks so that's where we'd always camp.

The hut:
Keep going up the track past the first rocks, until you reach a hard right-angled turn, with a marker. There is a wide pad heading left, so you're almost at a T-junction. Follow the left pad through a number of tentsites and onwards until you reach the hut - it's not far. Locked, as has been said, but a nice spot. Never noticed the tap.
