I suppose you would pick the ID of the tubing to suit whichever ferrule size you could find

Are these extruded, or axial wound? I can only see extruded on their website and from what I understand that's not optimal for tent poles. Roger Caffin has done quite some research on the topic for his UL snowtent.

These are a new product not yet on his website. Bi-Axial wound [ I suspect these are Chinese made
