The move to a lighter fly material is about the single biggest advancement i can see, it isn't the fly material on this tent that should determine choice or longevity. Why go for the heavy weight fly in choosing a light weight tent?
In case OP are listening, an integral pitch and a smidge more swinging room
inside would definitely spark my interest.
I would say again, I would pay as much or more and expect a slight weight penalty for a (nallo style? )tunnel tent (+10cm in useable length)
made in AU otherwise this and other recent models OP just aren't that exciting especially with the pitch design. I would have looked to hilleberg or even macpac rather than MSR (just my 2c).
A tent made in China attracts no more or less loyalty than one sourced from OS.
(While at it, a l/w pack. @50L Mungo , less padding, lighter straps, using dyneema X style nylon please...
