Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Southeastern Rock Art Circuit

Starting from the Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Parking lot, Kakadu, this circuit walk explores the southeastern base of Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) where there is a comprehensive rock art site, visiting two lookouts and an ancient Aboriginal shelter along the way. Go back in time as you view some of the oldest and most remarkable rock art on the planet as you make your way through the eucalypt woodland. There are 20.000-year-old pieces as well as more recent ones depicting interactions with other people. The Gunwarddehwardde Lookout lets you view the vast savannah woodlands while the Nawurlandja Lookout provides you exceptional views across the Arnhem Land escarpment. Time your walk and watch the sunset from one of these lookouts as you listen to the sound of kookaburras and cockatoos. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Parking lot, head east along the singular paved walking track (Nawurlandja Lookout Walk), moving directly away from the car park. Pass through a shaded area with a couple of benches and follow the said track as it slightly veers left. 240 metres into the walk (from the start), turn left at the 3-way intersection and head along the Burrunggui Walk track gently uphill to continue along Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Southeastern Rock Art Circuit(clockwise).....

	After another 290 m (at the intersection of Nawurlandja Lookout Walk & Burrunggui Walk) veer left, to head along Burrunggui Walk. After another 130 m come to the "Nawurlandja Lookout". After another 85 m find the "Anbangbang Shelter" (5 m on your right). 	After another 185 m (at the intersection of Nawurlandja Lookout Walk & Barrk Walk) turn right, to head along Nawurlandja Lookout Walk. After another 120 m come to the "Gunnwarrdehwarrdde lookout" (on your left). After another 255 m (at the intersection of Nourlangia art walk & Nawurlandja Lookout Walk) continue straight, to head along Nawurlandja Lookout Walk. After another 175 m (at the intersection of Nawurlandja Lookout Walk & Burrunggui Walk) continue straight, to head along Nawurlandja Lookout Walk.
	After another 245 m come to the end.
