Sandy Creek Circuit

Starting from the car park off Knoll Road, Tamborine Mountain, this walk takes you on a circuit in the lush rainforest of Tamborine National Park, visiting Cameron Falls and a couple of lookouts along the way. Admire the beautiful scenery as the gentle walking tracks welcome you into an immersive experience through nature. Keep an ear out for the soothing sound of water gushing down as you get closer to the waterfall. Here, you’ll be able to see gorgeous orchids finding their way out of the rocks around spring. If lucky, you may even view the rainbow that is forming from the strong spray of water. Speaking of, the waterfall is best viewed after decent rainfall, but that might lead to more leeches and muddy sections in the track. Besides the waterfall, the area is home to many bird species such as lyrebirds and bowerbirds. In fact, you can try to spot a bowerbird nest as you have a nice picnic in the rainforest. You can eat anywhere along the track but keep in mind that there is a designated picnic area at the trailhead, providing you tables and such. An insect repellent may come in handy. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the car park(Sandy Creek Circuit Parking) at the end of the side road off Knoll Road, pass through the bollard and head along the dirt walking track as you pass by a green “Tamborine National Park” sign to your right. Shortly after the said sign, veer left and keep left as the track takes you deeper into the woodland. In about 490 metres(from the start), continue straight at the intersection to continue along Sandy Creek Circuit(clockwise).....

	After another 35 m continue straight, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit. Keep left.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This lookout provides you with panoramic northerly views almost all the way to Brisbane. There is a map provided for identifying the mountain peaks you can see from here. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip continue straight when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 25 m turn left, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit. After another 310 m cross the ford. After another 115 m continue straight, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit. After another 95 m cross the bridge (about 30 m long) After another 350 m cross the bridge (about 6 m long)
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This optional little side trip takes you to the Cameron Falls Lookout. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn sharp right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 190 m turn right, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit. After another 40 m cross the bridge (about 10 m long) Then pass the "Cameron Falls" (20 m on your left). After another 520 m cross the ford.
	After another 55 m turn sharp left, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This lookout provides you with panoramic northerly views almost all the way to Brisbane. There is a map provided for identifying the mountain peaks you can see from here. To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 420 m turn right, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit. After another 25 m continue straight, to head along Sandy Creek Circuit.
	After another 40 m come to the end.

This optional little side trip takes you to the Cameron Falls Lookout.

	Continue another 0 m to find Cameron Falls Lookout at the end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 75 m to the main route.
