Rock Pool walk
Bidjara and Karingbal Country
Starting from the Carnarvon Gorge car park and camping area, this walk takes you along Carnarvon Creek with a sandy foreshore, perfect for sunbathing and having a relaxing picnic after a good swim (in the designated area). Remember to bring some insect repellent to protect yourself from the mozzies(Australian slang for mosquitoes). Expect to get wet feet in the creek crossings and avoid a midday hike under the blistering sun. Let us begin by acknowledging the Bidjara and Karingbal people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
