Wompoo Circuit

Starting from the car park at the end of Mapleton Falls Road, Mapleton, this walk takes you on a circuit in the lush rainforest of Mapleton National Park via the Wompoo Circuit, visiting Peregrine Lookout along the way. Also, you can visit the Mapleton Falls Lookout after/before your hike to enjoy some exceptional views over the Queensland hinterland along with the waterfall. The dense rainforest is teeming with interesting wildlife, and the towering trees around add an extra layer of serenity to the experience. The Peregrine Lookout features a cozy sat with a backrest that you can refuel as you savor the views of the mountains covered in green. With interpretive signs and undulating tracks, this walk makes for a great opportunity for little kids to get started and learn about nature. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed in the area. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the car park at the end of Mapleton Falls Road, head towards the white metal gate along the concrete path. Pass through the gap in the bollard next to the gate then veer right as you follow the “Wompoo Circuit entry” signage, passing by a green directional signpost to your left. Follow the said track as it veers left and crosses Pencil Creek. Shortly after crossing the creek using the bridge(205 metres from the start), turn right to continue along Wompoo Circuit(counterclockwise).....

	Start. Mapleton Falls Lookout (about 45 m back from the start). There is a toilet (about 20 m back from the start). After another 140 m pass the "Mapleton Falls" (75 m on your left). After another 40 m pass the "Mapleton Falls NP" (20 m on your left). Then head up the steps (about 15 m long) After another 7 m head up the steps (about 6 m long)
	Veer right, to head along Wompoo Circuit.
	After another 325 m (at the intersection of Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk & Wompoo Circuit) veer left, to head along Wompoo Circuit. After another 60 m pass a seat (7 m on your right).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip will take you to the Peregrine Lookout, where there's a cosy seat with a backrest for you to better enjoy the picturesque the view. To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip turn sharp right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 520 m turn left, to head along Wompoo Circuit.
	After another 160 m turn right, to head along Wompoo Circuit. After another 25 m pass a seat (on your left). Then head down the steps (about 15 m long)
	After another 185 m come to the end.

This little side trip will take you to the Peregrine Lookout, where there's a cosy seat with a backrest for you to better enjoy the picturesque the view.
