Mt Direction? (East Tamar)

Mt Direction is a bit more of a hill than a Mountain, but that makes it ideal for my little kids, assuming there's a good track. And of course there's a historic signal station on top. Even more exciting for the kids would be the fact that they can see it every day from our lounge room window, and would be able to remember climbing it every day when they look at it.

Has anybody been up Mt Direction? Is there a decent track that would be easy for very young kids (2 y.o.) to walk up? How long does it take (for adults, or for kids)?

Nik it's board walk to start with for a short bit then a very easy going gravel path that zig zags it's way uphill to the top. You could ride a mountain bike up it quite easily as well. Great views on top.

Sounds perfect for a day out for our kids. I'll have to make it happen!

Take some binoculars with you so you can see the other end at Windmill Hill and your house more easily.

I went up there with my parents and cousins and grandparents back when I was about 10. It was really a nice walk from what I remember, lots of things to poke around and the site at the top was well worth the look. Myself, my brother, one of my more adventurous cousins and our grandfather discovered a little side path further down from the main path, so we took that to see where we'd get. Turns out it appears out of the bush onto a dirk road and after many long kilometres of following that we got back on the main road. This is one good fun memory that will always stay with me.

So Mt Direction is a great place for kids in my experience!
