G'day all
(Parks hat on)
We have recently completed a fair amount of rockwork on the walking track across Eliza plateau to Mt Anne, despite summer snow, 100km/h winds etc. The work was aimed at the most eroded sections on a couple of small rises, and the boggy crossings across the moors, obviously to pull up some of the environmental damage that was going on up there. The vast majority of the work has been done but there is a couple of short sections left to do to pretty much harden the entire track to Anne. Due to $ we will have trouble getting this last bit finished alone.
SO...
Would anybody out there be interested in a working bee weekend on the plateau to basically move some rock into these short sections. Still just a thought at this stage, but it would require a one night camp up top, and a couple of hours work on a Saturday and Sunday. About all I can offer in return would be the fine company of a couple of Parks staff and some not bad views (weather pending).
As I say, just a thought at this stage, keen to hear back.
Cheers
Binder
PS, will be appearing live at Lake Rhona this weekend, so might catch one or two of you up there.
