All yours teak, I think it's actually from a little south of there but that's the answer I wanted.

Thanks Teak. I'm not very good at this game, but that view is one I've seen many times.

Hint time... This is usually a simple creek crossing point. On this occasion, we decided it was too dangerous, and turned back.
(The banks of the creek on both sides are actually further back than they look, with the vegetation growing out over the creek beyond the banks. It would have required a running-jump from knee-deep water over the ground above the bank on the left onto a slippery rock, and then a jump onto the knee-deep bank on the right, but not actually knowing where the creek ended and bank/land started.)

Is it the outlet creek from Lake Fanny?

I wondered about Lake Explorer.

That's correct. This is the usual spot to cross Explorer Creek, a little below Lake Explorer.

Thanks SoaB. I actually meant to say Explorer Creek.

There are two "normal" ways - O'Neills and the Face Track.

I regard O'Neills as the "normal" way but I've only been the Kings road way. Is that the Face Track?
Sun 27 Aug, 2023 7:58 pm
This is on O'Neils just near Reggies Falls - so Last has it [before he said more..]
Sun 27 Aug, 2023 10:32 pm
O'neils, the "normal" way was my guess. I was only trying to clarify if what NNW calls the Face Track is the Kings Road route. Next

I have no idea Last, but that looks a horrible day for a walk. Are you/that person howling into the rock face in despair at the weather?
Looks like some sort of old road you're on?

Just a typical day in the southern ranges

Not me, walking companion searching for something in their pack. Out of the shelter it was difficult to stand. It's not a road but probably generations of bushwalkers have sought shelter here.

You may be onto something. Would you like to be more specific?

I feel a bit bad for jumping in, but is it just below the top of Maxwell Ridge? On the Ooze Lake side.

Correct. A nice place to shelter on a summers day. Actually it was March.
