Thank you eggs. The map suggested that locale but I've never walked past the Face track on the Rodway, so a guesstimate.
Next:

- Surrounding peaks from near Crater Lake boat shed, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair NP

Apparently eggs. I had thought this would go quickly since it's not far from the last one and well known. A bit of zoom and the lake out of sight.

Yes John

Good grief where are they all? In the meantime we interrupt usual programming to bring you the eggs and John show.
General/approximate location will do:

- Uphill on the Wellington Creek circuit from Poimena, meenamatta/Blue Tier Forest Reserve via Weldborough

On the way up Mt Read?

Not Mt Read. I'm not in the west and didn't ascend any significant peaks here.

I would just about swear that that is on the way up (or down) Handley, though it could be elsewhere on meenamatta aka the Blue Tier..

We walked a circuit via Wellington Creek from Poimena. I think this could possibly be the flanks of Australia Hill or Mt Littlechild, but your answer is more than acceptable NNW.
meenamatta/Blue Tier was all I needed.

Littlechild is all forest. That looks more like the lower part of the Australia Hill track, or Poimena.
Where did I meet this tree, some years back?

Is that heading up quamby bluff?

It certainly is.

Cheers. I reckon most people would have that shot, or something similar.

Which river is this hut next to?

Liffey River?

Much further South

It’s not too far from a pub that needs a new roof (well it did when I was there in January).

Yes, going through my photo sequence I'd say Australia Hill. I need a camera with GPS stamp.
Current photo. Is the hut named?

Great question John - I’m not sure. I’ll have a look.
Mon 11 Jul, 2022 2:25 pm
Not on the map I have - could be privately owned.
There’s a well established walking track for anglers and a cool old railway between the river and the road.
Mon 11 Jul, 2022 3:06 pm
Mmm, historically a pub, railway, river, hut, anglers and walking in the one spot. WAG, Tyenna River?
Mon 11 Jul, 2022 7:01 pm
Spot on mate.
The roof of the National Park Hotel had a tarp on part of it in January…
Even without a rod in hand, it’s a beautiful river and well worth a stroll.

Driving through there I've always wondered if the river is worth a walk. Noted for when I next manage to come down.
Next one:

If I was hungry, metaphorically, I could have found some food further along the track.
Thu 14 Jul, 2022 10:48 am
Hmm - unlikely to be the Gingerbread Hut track, has more of a Wellington feel to it.

Approaching the potato fields?

Narrowed it down eggs.
L_Cham_67 wrote:Approaching the potato fields?
Yes, that's what I was hinting at Lucas. I was doing the Wellington Falls circuit anticlockwise, I'm actually about 15 minutes from Disappearing Tarn.
Over to you.
Thu 14 Jul, 2022 4:26 pm
eggs was right, it did look very Wellington Park-ish.
Next one - where was I s@#%#ing myself, wondering what the heck I was doing here?

(I'm going to say that for every vertiginous ascent someone posts. Eventually it will be right.)
