Lake Cecily or Millicent Frenchman's Cap?

Probably from Mt Ida

Indeed! Looking north from Mt Ida at Mt Spurling and Lake Riengeena.

I reckon this view might be better than the view over Lake St Clair.
Nice photo
This lake is not named, but has a named object nearby.

The lake just south of the Hydro hut?
Fri 18 Mar, 2022 10:58 pm
That is right

I must get there one day! I noticed the Parks rules have changed, and you can go in and out via Cradle in permit season now. That'll make it easier. I'm off to a mountain now, so anyone can go.

Grouse. I've been wanting to do this but always get sidetracked during winter. Though I think it would look better with snow, and I could start with a stealth camp somewhere like ********* (shhh, don't tell TasPAWS).
OK, have fun on your mountain, whichever it may be.

Cuvier?

Smartypants. Was hoping the cloud would fool people a bit longer.

It was a small crag between the clouds that got me thinking - but I was a bit quick off the mark.

Gould and Geryon are obvious landmarks. You're, what, east or north east with something rocky covering the Parthenon/Labyrinth etc. I just can't work out what that cliffy something is. Foreground has a Wailing Wall look to it, but that is not Moriah on the right. Could also be somewhere on the Cathedral Plateau or Rogoona, maybe?
Mon 21 Mar, 2022 7:40 am
Yes I am on the Cathedral plateau near the group of tarns Southeast of Cathedral Mountain. The rocky something is Falling Mountain and Castle Crag, over to you.
Mon 21 Mar, 2022 9:01 am
Thanks. Was not sure because while Falling was the only thing that it could be if it was on Cathedral, it looked too disconnected from the DuCane ridge.
Where is this lovely little spire?

Is that on Hugel?
Mon 21 Mar, 2022 3:07 pm
No.
Tue 22 Mar, 2022 4:21 pm
High dome?
Tue 22 Mar, 2022 5:01 pm
Perhaps Eldon Bluff?
Tue 22 Mar, 2022 5:40 pm
No to both those. High Dome is the closest so far, although I started closer to Hugel.
Tue 22 Mar, 2022 5:46 pm
En route to Gell?
Tue 22 Mar, 2022 7:05 pm
Wrong direction from High Dome.

Maybe looking over the north west ridge from Little Sugarloaf - from Manfred?
Wed 23 Mar, 2022 6:44 am
Yes, just below the summit of Manfred. I love that ridge. Good to keep you guessing so long.
