I dunno. I'd have thought you've had a few walks where the track looked a bit like that. Bit more mud, though.

Only briefly.
Plenty of boat rides, but. One on the old Maria Ferry when it was rolling gunwhale to gunwhale. And a night on Bass Strait when 2/3rd of the crew were seasick. First Cook Strait crossing was also interesting. etc.

Relative positions of High Dome and what I think is Pelion West put you east - maybe south east - of the latter, but High Dome looks the further away of the two, which suggests more north east ... and then there's that ridge below ... which looks like a cross between Loddon Range, King Willies and PB.

You can do it, nnw! Look at relative positions of Perrins and High Dome. That might help more. The ridge below is often seen, but probably not as often studied more closely. The views, if there are any, usually take precedence.

Let me just say that the tail end of this mountain is fascinating - proabably under appreciated.
And I won't ask where you started to get to the top at sunrise in a camping forbidden zone

I agree. Delightful saddle in between it and the named, much less visited bump on the end.
If one is determined enough, one has options. This option was a very rare one for me.

It's not bad at all, if you don't drop off too soon. I was a bit hesitant the first time, not being quite sure if it's possible. I vaguely remembered some club folk had done it before. We checked out a couple of spots, that I wasn't at all interested in. So we kept dropping down until we found something that looked good. I reckon it was easier than the normal route down.

If you have a good look at it from Benson, you can see the line to take. It's actually surprisingly straightforward if you get it right.
