Was this sidling past the north of PW from the Overland Track?
I had wondered about that approach.
I see we are still wandering around Cradle Mt..

Yep, from Pine Forest Moor. It might actually be a good route. I was put off by having to (unnecessarily) deal with some thick scrub with a big pack on a hot day.

That looks like Odo Tarn down below, which means you're most likely on the northern King William Range. Now to line up Slatters, Wylds, Reeds and Bonds and narrow it down ...

ETA: I am truly diabolical at lining up angles, but given the position of King Charles head immediately below the gap between Bonds and Reeds, I think you'd have to be towards the western edge of the range, either on Harold or that side of Battle Ridge.
2nd ETA: I think that's Wessex, not Odo, which puts you on Pitt.

Raglan Hut, aka Southern Haulage Hut, or Joyce Creek Hut, in Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers NP.
Looks to be a short distance off a trail coming in from the Lyell Hwy, on a tributary of Joyce Creek.

Right on the ID, but we don't do trails down here, they're all tracks.

In the interest of pedantry, let me explain. LISTmap shows the symbology and imagery for the presumed access route as a fire trail.
Hence my terminology. I haven't been there, perhaps it's now an overgrown foot pad and track would be a better description?
Whenever I next visit I can see a need to walk it for myself.

It is, in fact, an old logging road, same as the even more overgrown network onto the other section of the Raglan Range. Or, if you prefer, a vehicle track. :D

Thanks for clarification. No matter which base map and layer is selected I can only see what looks like a vehicular road/track of some description, with no legend.

You're looking north from somewhere south of the Lyell Hway. Eldon Range and High Dome in view, plus a tiny bit of Castle .... it looks to be somewhere around Frenchmans, maybe
Sharlands, but that doesn't feel right.

Aaarrgh! 50:50 chance, and you jumped the wrong way. But I'll give it to you anyway, as I'll be out today, you did the work for it, and technically you answered my question correctly. We were on our way to Philps that day, but this is on the way to Aggie-memnon first. I reckon this very cool little plateau would have been in cloud when you did it.

Ahhh, I think I know that place now. It was clear enough while I was up there, just the rock doesn't match what I remember of Aggers but that is mostly the white stuff up higher.

There's no quartzite on Eldon Peak.

Spicer Track and Unconformity Ridge. It's possible to avoid most of the scrub, but the stuff on the flats near Spicer is always going to be an issue.
