I've always been careful with storing my Xlite, and was aware of reports that as the mat is translucent you would see mould/mildew.
So, how do I remove or eliminate it?
Freeezer, bleach solution or other?

Bleach solution would be the only option i would have thought, but what it did to the plastic/foam & whether or not it ever dried out would be another story...

I'd be concerned re the damage any treatment may do to the fabric too.
This doesn't answer your question, but it might help in the future.
I avoid blowing into my mat if at all possible, but I got stuck a couple of times car camping, without the big pack liner I normally use to push air into it in 2 or 3 easy goes. So I used the same method as I do for my pillow:
I have a Big Sky pillow that's translucent. Now and then I end up adding some air by mouth after I've put stuff back inside my pack liner. The moisture from my breath results in drops of water when it condenses. My answer is to inflate it again when i get home, and put it near a sunny window. The moisture vaporises again, I push the air out, taking the moisture with it. No more water droplets when it cools again.
I just make sure it's not over-inflated when i put it in the sun.

Do you actually have mould or mildew on/in your NeoAir? Or is this just a hypothetical question?
I've owned numerous Thermarest products over the years including a NeoAir. I blow into them, leave them rolled up sometimes for months and have never had any mould or mildew. But if I did I'd email Cascade Designs and ask them for advice on what to do.

If it got mouldy I'd probably buy a new one.

E-mailed cascade. There are signs of mould.
