TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

SnowCamping 101 Links to existing threads

I was just asked a couple of questions on snow camping basics and I thought it would be a good idea to put in a post and add every link I could find so any reference to information could be quickly found.
Perhaps like UL camping a dedicated subsection might be handy but i'll start this and it can be moderated if needed.

I've found a link to Roger Caffins snow camping FAQ on the Bushwalking Australia site. Hope he doesn't mind me sharing.

I'll be based at Pretty Valley and pretty much for the whole of the ski season, with side trips to Hotham etc
