Lost horse on Bogong High Plains - horse found but gear lost

Please read this add from gumtree and keep a look out if you are in the area. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/falls-cr ... 1094586200

He has been informed about the horse riding regulations and is aware of her error so no need to go there. Parks are aware as well. If you see this horse you can contact her or send me a personal message with the area it was in and I can go up the same day. We also saw other horse riders camped at Langford West on Sunday. If you see people riding horses on the High Plains before Dec 1 then you could politely let them know they should leave or contact Mt. Beauty parks office on (03) 5754 4693. If you do manage to catch it then you could walk it back to the Pretty Valley yards and unsaddle it (if it is still on).

The owner has been given permission to ride this weekend in search of her horse but suffered some injuries in the fall. Not sure if others will be joining her. She tells me they saw other people riding as well plus some hunters.

We walked in from Cope toward Mt. Jim today and came across the guys from Parks who had come in from Tawonga Huts. They picked him up just before we met at the feral horse yards on Mt. Jim. We walked him back to the Pretty Valley yards just before the thunderstorm hit and one of the Parks guys ran the AAWT to our car and drove it around for us. Great walk anyway with a visiting friend. Wildflowers are great this season already. Horse is fine apart from a few scratches.

Apparently they camped at Tawonga Huts and he carried all his camping gear on the horse. This has all been lost in the Mt Jim area so if you find it then you could GPS plot it and let Parks know. I doubt it would be the kind of stuff anyone here would want and I would not of course encourage you to take it anyway as that is actually stealing. Finders keepers rule does not really apply.

Did you really need to put that in? I regularly see gear that has been put at trail heads or placed in huts that someone has dropped and on this forum stuff is regularly posted that members have found.

This statement seems pretty pious that this was written to warn us off criminal activity to a law breaker anyway.

Guys - you probably should have read into my tongue in cheek. I was not meaning to disparage anyone here. Not a big fan of the smilies or whatever they are called but maybe one of them would have conveyed my meaning. I will try to make my meanings more clear in future.
