Views from a tent

Postby tasadam » Sun 02 Nov, 2014 7:34 am

I stumbled upon this article of tent views -
http://www.redbull.com/en/adventure/sto ... tent-views

It got me remembering a lot of fantastic views I have had over the years. This one came straight to mind, so I thought I would start a gallery topic to facilitate everyone showing their tent views.
Enjoy!

Hmm, This is a bit like the tent locations thread, but didn't that one get handicapped due to the sensitive locations rule?

While a good view is one of my major prerequisites for a campsite, I don't usually take photos from the tent - unless the weather is like this:

Gell, during a brief break when I could open the door a tiny bit without the snow blowing in.

That second shot, NNW, would've won the competition for sure!

Incredible!

If I had a snowproof camera I'd have had some true stunners. That was a remarkable afternoon and the next morning was even better (because it had stopped blowing & snowing).

The rule you refer to is rule 24 -
Avoid posting detailed information on accessing sensitive areas without recognised tracks to public topics, but rather use private messages, email, or other non-public means to communicate such information instead. Feel free to ask questions about such areas publicly, so long as the post includes a reminder of this rule to get answers privately only.

As we're only showing images from such locations (as well as recognised campsites), so long as nobody posts something that is against that rule, we should be right.

Nice shots. Good that people are keeping locations unclear where appropriate.

Allow me to add one of my own. It is from a pass in New Zealand on the celebrated "Five Passes" route. Conditions were perfect that day. Two days later 100KMH winds, sleet, etc we got the full service from Hughey.
