It's the combination of space age materials and timeless class that really calls to me.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

Listed as $9.95 on Oztrail's official site and I think I just found a major major bargain. I'll take 10 at that price for 80mm of padding. Luxury!

I just got the seller's "logic". On his page, you can see it's out of stock, so instead of deleting the page and creating it again, he just upped the price to an insane value to stop people from bidding. It would be funny if somebody actually agreed to pay that much but he couldn't fulfil the order...

Hallu, you are right. I have seen similar elsewhere too. A case of out of stock. If someone truly buys it, I am sure he'd be willing to drive around the city to fill the order. LOL

Ordering now!

Seriously though can any one recommend a decent camping mat? I have a bad lower back and neck so something comfortable is a must

Really comes down to your budget. This is a $10 foam mat and then there are $200+ lightweight inflatable mats that provides way more insulation and support. Check out Exped and ThermaRest's products.

Partly that, but also so they don't reset the "this item has been sold xx times" counter near the top.

Plus it's still advertising their shop.

I use a Exped SynMat UL7 - It's a little bit noisy, though I don't wake myself up. Folds up small, light and easy to inflate. Love it though can be pricey, I have seen it down to $115us on sale.

I love my exped mat, and the added warmth from the down in winter trips makes it awesome (not so good in summer though - we use a thermarest then but definitely not as comfy). Worth the crazy price tag.

For that price I would want a sleeping partner too.

If it was located in Thailand, you might get a couple for that price. But not in Australia, I'm afraid.

I haven't tried the exped mat in cold areas but on a recent trip to Lamington NP I could feel the difference as soon as you lay on it, my back got warm straight away. I find it very comfortable and I use their ultrasil inflation bag, the schnozzle, as the dry bag for all my sleeping kit. I got sick of thin cheap mats that only acted as a conduit for the cold. I was happy to use nothing when I was younger but now I appreciate a little comfort.
