About 5km of uphill river walking & then a 5kms of downhill dirt road walk along the Forest Way.
There's a lookout overlooking the Georges Creek valley with the Cunnawarra Range as
a backdrop on return leg. Vast forested ridges, deep valleys, colourful parrots flitting through the
tree tops, all very easy on the eyes.
I set up camp just after midnight, after a long tiring drive south from Brissy.
Apart from a brief rain shower tapping on my tarp, and an inquisitive possum bouncing around
in the tree's canopy that I had suspended my hammock from...... I slept well.
The cool overnight temps were a nice change from the seeming endless long dry
summer heat we have been experiencing in Qld.
Good morning world......hammocker's bleary eyed view.

Large creamy white fungus...if only we had the historical knowledge of edible fungi's like the
europeans & asians have.

Brunch....a smokey dehydrated vegie soup.

The terrain gave the legs & knee's a good workout.

Part of an old watermill/hydroelectric station washed way down stream ?

1st sighting of the large main falls.
Imagine it in full flood......

Remnants of an old water driven powerstation /watermill ?...dam, hand dug water channel, sluice gate & outlet for water
to return to the bottom of the falls
Can't find awful lot of info on the internet about it though.....yet.

Adventure over, time for the body check. If it's not a tick, it's gonna be his kissing cousin, the devilish leech.
This one poked it's thin sucker through the weave in the sock, and onto my skin.

A different watery themed adventure this time....but it's always good to be out & about, surrounded by serenity of nature.
