A "tip" for megamid users

Just in case no-one has posted this before.
Replacing the little bit of back plastic with a big rubber crutch tip has made my tent pole much more stable and less likely to dslip when using it.
Also helps in snow and ice as it now doesn't slip off the little plywood plate i use as a spreader base.

That's a good tip. I've used half a tennis ball too - that works okay too. And with two springer spaniels, I have a never ending supply of tennis balls that have been ripped in half...

Another tip for using central pole pyramid tarps like the Megamid.
in snow a base plate is handy, to stop the pole from sinking into the snowpack.
I need to make a new and bigger one for the trip to the USA, thin hardwood ply with a backing of Karrimat glued on with silicon, similar to the insulated pad I use under my fuel stove.
