You do understand that they were introduced to Tasmania in 1915. They prey on other young birds etc. I think that puts them in the same category as foxes. Except everyone has seen a kookaburra in Tasmania.

They are nice birds, but yes, introduced.

Norts, you say you live in Germantown, do you mean Lilydale? I know that used to be called Germantown.
