Managed to make it down to the 'new' Lake Pedder this weekend as a site visit for my graduate project. I don't think I've ever seen it so still! Wonderful day generally and doubly so as I had the opportunity to introduce a Malaysian friend from KL to this amazing part of the world

This was also the last trip for my Oly E-3 and ZD 12-60 SWD, both of which are on their way to new homes this week. A new Panasonic GH2 is flying from the US as we speak

Has a bit of a sadness to it IMHO though.....

It is quite a poignant drive up to Maydena to Scotts Peak - the contrasts of wilderness and industry (logging, Florentine Valley camp, dams, mountains...) give you a lot to think about...

I'm curious why you're heading to the GH2. Will you be shooting lots of video? You'll have to write a review

Hi Dave, I mainly went with the GH2 because of size... I'm travelling a lot more now than I was and I've found the E-3, especially with the big Zuiko glass, to be too cumbersome in a lot of situations. The GH2 gives me similar speed and quality, but in a much more compact package (especially when you include the glass). It'll be interesting to see how much I miss weather sealing though, my last two bodies have both had it...

The excellent video was also a big factor
