Your Stacks Bluff picture was really nice - well composed and good lighting/colour through out. It got my vote.

Obviously this was a great spot to be on a great day.
With long shots there is a problem of background washout (too bright) and you should try to get the horizon around 1/3 or 2/3rds up rather than right on the centre point.
[A sort of rule of thumb that some talk about]
I also notice when I drill in to the full size picture it is still pretty ragged - what resolution are your photos?

Resolution for the pics I put on this site is very small as it wont let me post the usual image. tis why I dont bother putting many pics on this site anymore.

Funny you should say that about the horizon, i had someone else telling me recently I need more sky in my pics.. All comes down to personal taste I guess.

I argee I was there 3 weeks ago for the first time and found that Stacks is quite a good looking mountain from the south, I usually see it from the North of the park. Did you have any ice/snow on your trip up that way?

Sure did. The summit cairn was very impressive on the southern side.

Was up at Pavement and Sphinx bluff 2 weeks ago and the ice up there was phenominal! In places it was up to 30cm thick. Probably the coldest i've ever felt anywhere too.....

This was a 12 hour day from Righ Angle Peak to the car at Huon Camp.
Long but stunning, will remain one of my favourite trips for some time to come I think;
blue bird days like this day after day in the SW are rare & we feasted on them like ravenous vultures

Nice shots, looks like a perfect day, with perfect views! and the lake looks so calm too!

That general rule of thirds thing works the other way too, i.e. 1/3 land and 2/3 sky so you can work it either way depending on your tastes and which ever way suits the given view.

Try to get the horizon level. It's common to tend to tilt one way or the other, so pay attention when you're framing the shot.

I'm trying to chose between three images for June. Just can't make up my mind . . .

I have an uneven spine, Slightly higher on my right hand side. Probably happens naturally

I tend to do it, too, so I've trained myself to watch the horizon in the viewfinder very carefully.

This mountian was named after my father and I've never climbed it. It's wonderful to see some great images from the top on a fantastic day. Well done.

Stunning views!! I rode into Strathgordon last weekend on the motorbike and it was just magnificent. Mirror reflections well into late afternoon, when the obligatory rain squall came through.
The next day it was back to sunshine and clear skies.
Makes it really difficult to concentrate on riding while rubber-necking at the feast of peaks in this area!

Yeh it's really speccy country huh!! (hence my user name) The only place that MAY rival it is the southern reserve. But the Southwest wins for it's ruggedness IMO

Nice picture but it wouldn't have won . You need a camera like my overweight monster - it's got an electronic level display to tell you if the camera is level or not.

Now I want to go and get that view. Shame I haven't got a clue where it is!
