Cradle Mt

Hi all

A friend and I went for a 'quick' wander up Cradle yesterday, thought I'd post a few pics.........

My mate has been living in Tas for 12 months now and has been keen to do some bush walks after I took him up to Lake Myrtle and Mount Rogoona during winter last year.

Due to both of us having to be back in Launceston by 5pm at the latest, we made an early start and were on the track (from Ronnie Creek car park) at exactly 8am. The 2 of us do quite a bit of running together in Launceston (through the Gorge/Duck Reach track/Trevallyn Reserve) and thought it would be fun to have a bit of a run on this occasion as well.

We made good time and after heading past Crater Lake and Marions Lookout we were standing on the summit at 9:40 for some morning tea. After a bit of a break we wandered back down to Kitchen Hut and then along the face track. We decided to do some more exploring and headed behind Hansons Peak, past Twisted Lakes and Lake Hanson, before returning to Dove Lake car park and then through to Ronnie Creek car park.

It was a great day and we even managed to run the final 3.5km of track from the Dove Lake car park back to Ronnie Creek.......back in town at 3:30!!

I've been up Cradle once before and through to Barns on another occasion (and obviously seen plenty of amazing pics on this web site in particular)........yet the beauty of that place never ceases to amaze me though, we are truly blessed!
