Norway ptIII - Rondane NP

Tue 22 Oct, 2013 11:17 am

I posted the first two parts of my 12-day Norway trip here ages ago, and then got distracted and completely forgot about part 3  So anyway, here it is! The final four days of my first 'serious' solo, international walk - this section looks at a rough circuit of the northern Rondane Nasjonalpark and the exit route west towards Otta.

And here is the trip in full...
Part I: http://peopleandotherstrangecreatures.w ... danestien/
Part II: http://peopleandotherstrangecreatures.w ... dbekkbotn/
Part III: http://peopleandotherstrangecreatures.w ... botn-otta/

Shot with a GH2, Lumix 7-14mm, Nokton 25mm and m.ZD 45mm.

Great stuff. I was walking in Norway 20 years ago and it was my also first big oversea trip, but not solo :)

I got cold just looking at them! Loved the "Average conditions" shot. Thanks for sharing, Ian

That is just such wonderful looking country. Is it really as open and scrub-free everywhere as those photos suggest?
Maybe I should move up there instead of Tassie . . .

The areas I visited were mostly open moor, with some birch and pine forests lower (although still considerably more open that tassie forests...).

That said, Scandinavia does an epic bog ;)

I had an interesting experience near trondheim whilst walking.

The quaking bog was nowhere near as noticable as in this video, but interesting nontheless.
