My 2007 "Short list" - WARNING 84 photos, 6.5Mb

Postby tasadam » Sat 11 Oct, 2008 8:51 am

Choosing just 3 photos for the 2007 Photo of the Year competition was very difficult.
I had all sorts of trouble picking my favourite three.
I started off with a short list, then made it shorter, and shorter, and finally narrowed it down to about 30...
So my final 3 were as chosen by some friends.

Now that voting has finished, here is my first "short list" after going through all my 2007 photos...
Some of the ones I left out of this list were pretty hard to leave too, got to draw a line somewhere.

I have the same problem every time - trying to choose juist one photo...

A couple of notes - I loaded this page and needed to click refresh a couple of times before all the images displayed completely - probably something to do with the web host.
When I viewed it on my laptop with a non-widescreen display, I noticed it was clipping the right edge of the photos. An easy way of telling whether this is happening on your display is with the final picture in this post - the eagle has the same amount of sky on the left wing as it does on the right - if you do not see this, the images are being cut off on the right edge.

Enjoy!

Tasadam

Very nice photos - I particularly like the stream shots with the tremendous green mosses.

However, I do suspect you meant to say from Kia Ora Hut for those snow photos towards the end which are titled "from Pelion Hut" :)

Regards,
Brian

Adam,

Stunning pics as always.

My top 5?
1. The long exposure of the tree by moonlight at the labyrinth - reminds me of my astonomy days
2. The blue fungi on the way to Smoko falls - stunning colours
3. Frozen shrubbery at Lake Windemere - I love "cold" pictures for some reason
4. Snapshot of the eagle from Mt Oakleigh summit - gotta love the wildlife pics
5. Snow covered pandani in the foreground from Kia Ora - another "cold" but beautiful image

And all the fungi shots, and the snow/ice photos, and the streams, and...

Ah, you get the point - they are terrific shots, all of them - fantastic job. Look forward to seeing the 2008 collection :)

Cheers,
Alliecat

Some brilliant photos there. Whats the secret to getting the colour like you have in those pics at Smoke Falls? I had my EOS400D and a tripod and mine turned out nothing like that

Mother Cummings Peak and Overland Track shots were stunning......mind you, some of the others weren't bad either.
Also liked that shot of the insect eating plant.
Cheers

Beautiful Adam. I like them all also. Like the Barn Bluff one. It's like a red hot poker!
