Our long standing plan for last for last weekend was to take a couple of friends to the NE Ridge of Anne. As the weekend drew closer, I meditated a lot on the likely depth of snow on the Pandani Shelf and we reverted to Plan B.
We retrieved Honey Bee from her Cygnet mooring, loaded her with food, wine and our friends and, taking advantage of a forecast for Northerly weather, headed south to Cloudy Bay. We ended up in Cloudy Corner and from there we had a fabulous walk up East Cloudy Head. The vegetation is still recovering from the fire of a few years ago, but is still worth the walk and the view was stunning both to the East and to the West.
Stepping off the track would result in a good covering of soot, but there are new banksias appearing as well as this:
