Ossa & Oakleigh at Easter + A couple from Mt Sprent

Postby Mickeymoo » Mon 16 Apr, 2012 11:56 am

Well I haven't been out walking much of late unfortunately so it was good to walk into Pelion Hut over Easter and spend a few days camped there. We climbed Ossa and Oakleigh while there which finally got me over the 100pt mark!! then had a beautiful walk out with 3-4 inches of snow being dumped on Sunday night. Unfortunately the weather lived up to the forecast with a thunderstorm across Pelion Plains Friday night and then wet windy conditions for the next two days with a little snow on the way up Ossa and then finally snow on the last day. Luckily I was still able to get a few snaps while out there though!

Unfortunately I left my tripod back at the tent and then we came to this :( however, I managed to fashion a tripod of sorts out of some sticks, which seemed to work ok!

I also went for a wander up Mt. Sprent last week, another summit with no views, I seem to be having rotten luck with views from summits of late :( but a nice steep little walk in the mist!

I love the shot of the 'snowy' tree with the blue sky behind :D

Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic shots! I was lucky enough to have a trip going through during all this snow (I'm not sure the guests thought they were lucky though...) :D

Particularly like the one of Pillanger and the stream shot below it!
