What's your fav pic taken from your shelter?

Postby andrewbish » Sat 29 Oct, 2011 7:51 pm

Here's a photo I took from under my vinyl (yes, your read right) tarp tent last summer, from Mt Buggery. Dunno know that it will win any awards but it is a top memory for me. It was my first night in this shelter and in the Aussie bush alone. I pitched it in the wrong angle and got a cold breeze on me all night. I used some tape to put a garbage bag over the entrance which reduced it a little. The sunrise over the Crosscut Saw was just stunning and I took this photo with my iPhone 3GS.

Here's another from the past winter, taken in a valley near Mt St Gwinear in Vic.

Next all time favourite as the night was mild with a beautiful sunrise on the New Harbour Range, took this while eating my muesli :)

My latest is the most speccy, end of an amazing day climbing Mt Rugby and the best thing about a tent with dual vestibule's is you get 2 different views
First one is looking east across Bathurst Harbour to Mt Norold

Next is just after the sunset looking west out at Port Davey

I don't have many taken without getting out of the tent but here is one from when a group of us were camped just below the top of Double Peak in the Frankland Range. It is nice when you can watch the sunrise without having to get up and dressed.

Some nice pictures there. I particularly like the party in the tent pic tasadam! I seem to have only ever taken one photo from inside my tent, so i guess it is my favourite photo taken from my shelter by default...raindrops on the outside of my TT Moment, on the South Coast Track earlier this year.

Nice one proskub ... a favourite spot.

From the sublime to the gorblimey ... here's a snap of a TasEx guide knocking on our tent at Wild Dog in the WoJ, offering left over plum pudding and custard. There might be no such thing as a free lunch, but this was VERY welcome!! :o :o

cheers

Some old slides of how once we could do things, or perhaps where we could.

This is what drew me to The Walls, year in, year out. No tent, just the stars above, the ground beneath and this to say 'gday to'.
