After reading about the Daisy Lakes, people may want to see the video I made of our April 2008 trip across the Central Plateau. There is a short version on Youtube (in 2 parts). The first part is at -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN63cXlmbuoIt starts at Higgs Track. The Daisy Lakes are at about 3 mins, then to the Walls, and Chinaman Plains. Mts of Jupiter (nice fagus) and Traveller Range. Follow the youtube link to get to part 2 - The Labyrinth, Geryon and Acropolis

Ditto. Too much risk for me on either of the Geryons. S'ok, we can head out to the Guardians or Walled Mt or Something.

Very nice vids! Very "informative" too!

Note on the Geryon. Its really not too hard or exposed to climb. The tricky bit is not exposed. And from there it is easy to the summit (of the North Peak). The "interesting" part on the video perhaps - is where you see Chuin Nee doing a traverse - that is very easy - but a little exposed - and that is only to climb up the southern part of the North Peak. This is not the highest part of the peak - but does have amazing views of the Foresight and the South Peak - and so is well worth climbing. To do that, you have to climb back down off the main summit and traverse a bit on the west, and then climb again (following cairns)
The Geryon is a great peak - in my opinion the second best peak in Tasmania to climb (after Federation)
Later in the video - you can see me climbing to the summit of the Acropolis (the first pinnacle) - that is much harder and more exposed than the Geryon North Peak.

Ive seen pictures of you on the Acropolis before Dave, I did wonder if that bit in the video was you going up there! Thats sooo off my list it didnt even warrant mentioning..
Top job getting up there though!
I probably would give Geyron a crack if I had my usual crew leading the way.... Is the North peak harder than the South peak?? To the actual summits?
