SW Cape Circuit 2009 - Part 6 - Noyhener Beach.
Noyhener Beach is about 4 to 5 hours of fairly easy walking from Window Pane Bay. The route follows open ridges near the coast and there’s a light pad for much of the way but there’s also a couple of thick forests where the faint trail peters out and everyone seems to get lost for a while. I was no exception…
The faint pad through the last forest ends abruptly at the rocky coast just south of the beach. The sea was calm and the tide low so it was an easy scramble along the rocks to the southern end of the beach.

I was impressed with the previous sets that you posted, but some of these images blew me away. The light, composition, moody weather and other elements all seem to come together nicely. Wonderful work

. Oh yeah, the skies really opened up on the first night at Noyhener. By mid afternoon the big black clouds were rolling in from the north and soon there was a huge thunderstorm with lightning, gale force winds and torrential rain that lasted all through the night. I had all my gear, especially camera gear, double bagged that night! But thankfully my tent didn't leak a drop. Murgab creek rose about 1.5m overnight and turned from a trickle into a raging torrent; the sea which was like a millpond on the first day turned wild with huge swells and surf. But next day, as the storm cleared, there were some great picture opportunities with some fine dramatic skies!
