This is the pack you need when you have to carry most of your wife's gear, dog's stuff, fishing gear, kid's stuff, wine, seats etc: used to do it but no longer capable. Surely somebody still does this sort of hiking.

Most definitely, one of my mates insists on lavish meals at the expense of pack weight. Not uncommon for his weight for a 7-10 day trip to exceed 30kg, can't be healthy haha.

These are one of the best made packs in the world. Great harness and that counts for a lot because that's what makes it comfortable to carry.
Treated correctly, this could give you another twenty years.
Unfortunately i have more packs than i can poke a stick at.
You'll probably have a hard time getting rid of it.
The current prevailing attitude is about carrying less and less. It may be a while for the pendulum to swing back toward being self sufficient, relying less on technology, conditioning oneself to carry a load.

Agree entirely. Unfortunately I am getting to the age where long expeditions with heavy packs are just not possible.

I already have too many packs, but I've always liked the simplicity of these early WE packs.
I could be tempted if I had more storage room
