Hi all, I have for sale a pair of quilts that I made a few years ago as prototypes where I was trying to develop a way make two single quilts that could be joined into a double quilt. The joining of the quilts didn't work out as well as I hoped and I felt that in order to make it work as well enough to offer as a product it would become overly fiddly to make and possibly use.
The basis of the design is to join the sides of the two quilts with a decent overlap using additional snap fasteners. With the sides joined the shape of the quilts and zips, snaps, clips etc. actually all work well, however the number of snaps to hold them together would have to be increased quite a bit to prevent the chance of drafts through the overlap areas and this pair of quilts would require fairly careful use to make them work well in the combined mode (i.e. little tension on the quilt between the two sleepers). I do think it would work quite well opened out as a big blanket for use in a van or something like that.
In single mode these are basically the same in design and function as my single quilts, just with a number of extra snaps installed. There's two rows of snaps on each quilt, on the edges and also on the overlap point, one quilt with the snaps on the inside and the other on the outside since one has to overlap on top of the other. Hopefully the photos illustrate what I'm talking about.
Anyway, since I didn't continue with the effort to make combinable quilts I'd like to sell these prototypes. I think they'd be ideal for a couple that generally wants individual quilts but perhaps would also combine them for use as a blanket in a van or in milder conditions or car camping. I've had a number of people hop in these to try out but they've never been taken into the field or slept in.
Both or the quilts are -8C regular length and width with 850fp HyperDRY duck down filling. (See here for more details:

I'd like to sell them together as I think there is some additional functionality even though the concept didn't work out quite as well as I'd hoped. I'm asking $750 for the pair plus postage (or pick up on NSW Central Coast)
