Hi,

I’ve been lurking behind the scenes for a while now & thought that it’s probably time for me to post my first post!

After being inspired by many of the MYOG posts I thought that I’ve have a go at making my own pot cosy for one of my latest acquisitions, a Snow Peak 2.0 Combo pot set purchased from Toms Outdoors whom I highly recommend due to the excellent level of customer service that I received.
I also purchased a Soto Windmaster at the same time that nests perfectly inside the pot along with a small size gas canister making a very lightweight, small sized set-up just perfect to carry in your pack even for on day hikes when you fancy a hot brew.

Like the vast majority of other designs on the internet I decided to use a combination of foil bubble wrap (car sunshade) & foil tape as they were most readily available to purchase at a reasonable price.
I must admit that I’m really chuffed at how they turned out, here’s a few images of the final cosy items that also shows how well they all nest together making for easy packing & portability.
The total weight of all 3 cosies is about 65gms which I think is acceptable enough for the potential fuel savings that can be gained together with making the pots easier to handle & hold whilst eating/drinking from them.

I find that I usually eat my dinner faster than it cools.

Cheers

True, me too!

The cosies are mainly to help keep my drink warm while I faff around setting up camp & also to assist with cooking rice/pasta after first bringing the pot contents up to the boil & then putting the pot into the cosy to continue cooking off the stove allowing me to utilise the stove to warm through a sauce or something similar if required.

Good to hear, that’s the main reason why I posted my efforts.

Not sure if you’ve got the same pot set, if so feel free to PM me if you want a few tips that I learnt the hard way whilst making mine!
