Johhny seems to be hopeful. Fascinating in that he would speak about the weaknesses in the developmental phases of his stuff.
Quite a bloke I reckon.
This laminate/fabric has been touted by people in the know for quite a while as the best of all worlds but has found no real (commercial) takers until now.
Not too expensive either but sells out quickly when last I looked for some.

I *&%$#! hope so. I hate the x on xpac. Horrible stuff prone to abrasion wear. This new stuff should do the job.

It would take me a lot to move away from my DCF packs (various HMG's/Palante), which have withstood an absolute thrashing in KNP and Namadgi over the years and are still kicking. DCF has held up far more than any of my VX packs did. I use the DCF Palante V2 as my ultralight scrub pack now with out issues.

Agreed, good on him for laying it out and talking pros and cons. I wish more manufacturers were this honest.

Yikes! I just got a pack made from a combination of vx 21 and ls 21, I hope it lasts a while. Is this stuff ok at these weights? Back panel is 500d cordura.

That has to be an Atom? He likes 500d Cordura as a backpanel. What is the reason I wonder?
I'm pretty sure a forumer has some LS21 on a rucksack-perhaps that person will comment.

Actually, I got a MO. He puts the 500d cordura back panel in to beef it up. Pretty happy with the pack, got ten nights in with it so far. Super comfy.
