I'm just wondering what the best way to keep down in place when using dual layer bi-component insulation for clothing.

Is the No-See-Um mesh at half the cost of Argon going to be a reasonable way to do it?
Cecile feels the cold and I am trying to persuade her to take my un-utilised down and the left-overs from the half bag project and make an ultra warm vest
Not looking to make an Uberlite garment, more a very warm and relatively robust one
Shell will be the pink camouflage EPIC we got in America, then the Apex 2.5 then the down layer
I have 3 ounces of down from Simon which I am hoping will be just enough for a stitched thru vest in XXL if not a baffled one
Funny how my plans have changed but that's how it goes sometimes and if the Boss doesn't want it in the end I can always add another layer to my kit as my own vest is almost as old as dinosaur skin

If it's just baffles for a jacket I would probably have some remnants of noseeum left over that would be even cheaper, if you don't have what you need.

No problem, will see what it will fit in.

The noseeum should work for that. So the plan is to do a sew through vest with a layer of Argon and a layer of noseeum then sew a layer of climashield and a shell of Argon on top? Take lots of pictures of the construction, this one will be interesting!

The Boss just got her new over-locker [7 threads and 5 needles] so she is going to her own
If 3 ounces of down was enough in a vest size XXL then we may do baffles but 3 ounces is borderline from what I read
Argon as the inner layer, then down filled with No-see-um then the Climasheild but the EPIC as the outer shell
This 2.5oz EPIC is amazing stuff and we bought all there was but it was the end of the roll so not much
Will need to be differentially cut too but 130mm should be enough
