From Monty Alfords little book on cold weather
Made using a tin and a small Titanium cup. Not using the tiny tealight candles but a much bigger survival candle in a cat food tin.
On a USA forum it's mentioned that the big wicks in the candle [ it is made with 12mm cotton braid] take a lot of heat to start it is recommended to use a dash of metho to start.
Haven't tried it out yet or made a stuff sack for it. But there is enough room for the usual brew-up stuff of a lighter and matches, tea bags, coffee sachets and a CuppaSoup.
Past experience tells me that the candle is slow but that might help pass the time if stranded overnite, and sods law prevails and the only time you need this stuff is the day you don't have it
