Door holder for a tent

What do you call those little plastic thingies that usually hook to a bit of elastic, the thing that holds the rolled up tent door? There are a number of different types. I've never seen them for sale anywhere.

Toggle
Do you want some?? I may have some here you can have, how many?

Toggle? Do you mean a cord lock?

That's one way to do it. Velcro is another. But I'm talking about more dedicated gizmos.

"Tie-back" may be the term. I still can't find anything for sale anywhere; perhaps they're all proprietary items. Hilleberg has a particular version. There's at least one tent maker that uses a magnetic tie-back, the "MagTie".

I think I know what you mean.

That's a kind offer to send me some. But I live in the U.S. The postage is probably more than the value of the item.

I keep trying to find these things on various fabric and DIY websites and I'm coming up empty. Maybe the easiest thing is to just make my own.

Under misc.... Tent toggle.

I had previously looked at that web page on Quest but somehow my eyes missed it.

The thing is, I don't actually want a toggle. I want a different type of closure. But seeing how hard it is to find the simple toggle I doubt it's worth wasting any more effort trying to find the other varieties.

Thanks for the help.

And thanks again for the very kind offer, Moondog!

Explain this different type of closure and maybe I have something.
"S"- hooks work as do glove hooks and small side release buckles and simple bits of cord sewn on, of all of them I have found the loop and toggle the easiest to use as well as the most reliable

Google...elastic tent loop in google images, provides another option.
Omni tape is another.
Or maybe these squeezy doo-hicky's ...http://store.picharpak.com/index.php?ro ... duct_id=94

Moondog, I don't have a specific closure in mind. I just know that I don't want a toggle. I've made toggles for tent closures before and find them kind of fumbly. Our Hilleberg has closures that are better, in my opinion. They look a lot like what ofuros posted a link to except that they accept flat eastic webbing instead of elastic cord.

Ofuros, I am impressed with your googling skills. What were your keywords for finding that squeeze hook?

Here're a couple of photos of one of the closures on our Nallo tent:

Orion - those hooks are often described as pack hooks in the USA, we stock them over here and use them on our camping hammocks.

Dutch will have the squeeze hooks and pack hooks over there though the pack hooks are slightly different to ours - http://dutchwaregear.com/myg/diy-hardwa ... c.html?p=1.

+1 on the pack hooks. You can also get a thinner one that works with cord or elastic rather than tape.

Kitty, Simon, Mark -- You guys are awesome.

And I'm blind. There it is on that very same Quest page and I still didn't see it. Come to think of it, I've seen those on some UL packs. Although they say they're for cord they look identical (or nearly so) to the hooks on my tent.

The magnetic door tie-backs I read about are kind of intriguing. I have some little tiny neodymium magnets that are super strong. It wouldn't be too hard to sew or glue them to a tent. I wonder how well that would work?

Anyway, thank you, all of you!

You sew a small pocket for the magnet and then sew the pocketed magnet to the tent
