As an overquilt I think this is the correct weight for me but I could squeeze another layer out of my PayPal acccount if need be. Question is should an extra wide quilt also be extra long or just long enough to cover the head?
3 yards would do a flat quilt. 4 yards to do a boxed foot or get a full 6 yards and do a double layer and a boxed foot?
I need to be quick tho as Cecile come home in a week after sitting Shiva for her mother

Not sure how qualified I am to reply but to my way of thinking 3 yards would be plenty for a single layer.
My assumption is it's 9 feet long and 6 foot wide. Most of the foot box comes from closing the lower (towards your feet) in under your legs/feet so if you were 7 foot tall you have 2 feet to make the vertical end of the foot box.
